For this business trip to Beijing, I chose the Desheng Hotel Beijing located on North Third Ring Middle Road, just over 200 meters away from Madianqiao Subway Station. It's just a few steps away with my suitcase, making it particularly friendly for business travelers in a hurry. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, with multiple routes covering the whole city. If you want to go to the Bird's Nest to watch a performance or explore the old Beijing hutongs in Shichahai, you can take a taxi in just over ten minutes. There are also landmarks such as Beijing Normal University and Madian Park nearby, making it convenient for both business and short trips.
Pushing open the hotel door, the faint aroma in the lobby instantly relaxed people. The check-in process at the front desk was very fast, and the staff had a friendly attitude. They heard that I was on a business trip and even took the initiative to help me upgrade my room. They reminded me that there was a dedicated guide in the parking lot, and I didn't have to worry about finding a parking space when driving here. I stayed in a clean and spacious double bed room, and the first thing I felt upon entering was that it was clean and bright, without any of the old-fashioned odors commonly found in traditional hotels. The details in the room are very thoughtful. In addition to the regular high-speed WiFi, central air conditioning, and mini bar, it is also equipped with an air purification system. The TV comes with screen mirroring and movie membership. After a busy day's work, you can snuggle up on the sofa and watch a few episodes, and the fatigue will dissipate in a moment. What surprised me the most was the design of a double washbasin in the bathroom. Even if I had to rush to wash up in the morning, I didn't have to compete with my colleagues. The toiletries were very well prepared, and even laundry detergent was provided. I brought fewer things when I was on a business trip.
When it comes to dining, the Desheng Roast Duck Restaurant at this hotel is definitely a pleasant surprise. The 198 yuan three person meal launched by the second floor restaurant has a high cost performance ratio. The roasted duck is made of freshly roasted Jinxing duck embryo fruit wood from Shounong, with crispy skin and tender meat. Paired with spring pancakes and sweet bean sauce, it is full of authentic flavors of old Beijing in one bite. Breakfast is not limited to the hotel. You can go to the Huguo Temple snack bar downstairs with a voucher. Sugar Youbing (Deep-fried round and flat dough-cake), fermented sour milk made from ground mung bean wow gold coke circle, and Guotanzi can eat the morning of old Beijing. Next to them are McDonald's and Dole's Day Bakery, where you can easily buy portable meals when you catch an early flight, which is very friendly to business travelers.
The biggest feeling after staying for a few nights is that this old hotel, which has been open for decades, is not stagnant at all. After being reinstalled in 2019, it not only retains the thoughtful and traditional service, but also adds all the details needed for modern business travel. The housekeeping lady would greet me proactively every time she passed by, and would even lend me a hand when she saw me carrying documents. When checking out, the front desk even gave me a small souvenir. The sound insulation in the room not close to the road is done very well. After processing the plan late at night, lying down, the sound of traffic on the third ring road outside the window is almost inaudible, and you can sleep soundly for a whole night.
Compared to nearby chain hotels that often have high prices, Desheng Hotel Beijing has achieved convenient transportation, attentive service, and easy dining and accommodation at a moderate price. Whether it's a business trip to Beijing or looking for a suitable location to visit attractions, this is an error free choice. The next time I come to Beijing, I will definitely consider this as my first stop.Show more
